i am looking for a professional company to come in and clean our stage curtains. i am in Northeast Ohio.  i also have questions about if they clean them on the spot or take them down and then rehang them.

anyone out there with your thoughts and experiences?

They also should be refire proofed at the same time. Rose Brand I believe does the full service. ------------------------------------------- Phillip Rayher Director, Theatre Dept. Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts -------------------------------------------

Most theatrical drapery needs to be taken down and cleaned. They will probably shrink a few inches even if dry-cleaned. Be sure to get certification that they were treated for fire resistance and file the certificate in a safe place and make a copy and have the administration and custodial department file it also. Certificates are easily lost.

Most new drapery has the certificate sewn into the drapery.
