  • 1.  Materials to Accompany Boleslavsky's Acting: The First Six Lessons?

    Posted 05-18-2016 14:58

This summer I will be developing the curriculum for a new course at our school:  Advanced Acting I & II. For this course, I have chosen to use the text Acting: The First Six Lessons by Richard Boleslavsky, and I am wondering if any of you already have materials to accompany this text (guided questions, quizzes, activities, vocabulary, writing prompts, performance-based assessments, etc.).

All students will be either juniors or seniors and have had at least 2 year-long theatre arts courses prior to taking this class.

I would greatly appreciate any insight, suggestions, ideas, advice, &/or materials!

    Thanks so much!

    HI

Email me at derwin@fergflor.org. We use it in our beginning Acting class and use Improv based activities to reinforce the concepts.  I can send you our powerpoints and would love to see what else people have!

    Hi

This may be easier since LOTS of folks have been asking for things. I'd welcome anything other people have too. We use Sands and Keyes for our Acting 2 class and do performances for each of their lessons. That book is out of print, but pretty accessible for high school kids. I've attached that powerpoint.

My checklists are in need of an overhaul and most of the Improv Games coud be used for more than one lesson. We've been "tweaking" for a while

Second semester is Open Scenes, Pantomime and Scene work

For Acting 2 all the major lessons all have a performance component. We use a text for tactic and each group then performs the same scene and explains their choice of tactics, etc.

Hope this helps and I'd love for others to share out.

Douglas, thank you so much for all of that! One file is not downloading for me. Would you check and repost it? It is titled Emotional Memory Games.
