    Hi

Does anyone know of a good place to take online courses in theatre? I would prefer graduate credits as opposed to PDPs. I need to take one to renew my certification. And I have exhausted all of the places of which I am aware.

    Thank you!

I did a course through Canvas (https://www.canvas.net/) last summer just for fun.  It was a partnership with AMC and it was a whole course on Film Noir.  I really enjoyed it.

There are a few things that I scanned through that you could possibly make fit.  I don't know what your timeline is and what your requirements are.

Each summer (and now during the academic year as well), I offer graduate online courses through the Drama Department at The Catholic University of America. This summer I am teaching Drama in Education, Part 1 completely online. It's probably too late to enroll in this course, however, because you need to apply to the university as a non-degree student and the turnaround on that can take awhile. The course begins May 18.

In the fall, I am offering Teaching Theatre - a Theatre Methods course - online. For all these online courses, we meet via video conferencing and interact in real time, so this is more than an independent study experience. Here are a few blog posts I wrote about the online courses:

Contact me if you want more information (FLYNN@cua.edu). Another item of interest - It's not official yet, but it should be soon: CUA will be offering a Graduate Certificate in Creative Teaching through Drama. This will be a 5-course (15 graduate credits) program that students can take completely online or as a hybrid program - partially online and partially in person. Contact me if you'd like to know when the university gives this its final approval and we go live!
