I am interested in how other troupes handle electing officers and whether your troupe has officers or a board of directors. My current officers have been in an interesting power struggle this year both with themselves and members of the troupe. Also many years the voting has resulted in "favorite" students becoming officers and although they are well liked by their peers they do not necessarily make the best officers. I am contemplating creating a board of directors rather than officers. These students would apply for the job and be chosen by myself and the technical director. Your thoughts?
I have been teaching many many years and this has been a very frustrating year. The officers are very passionate but also are perceived as power hungry by their peers and each other!!
