Seems to me that I remember a similar post a long time ago, but I'm looking for ideas to represent the roll-up gate thing used in schools, like in our cafeteria, to close off an area. I don't need it to roll up, but just to look like it. Believe it or not, it's for a production of Godspell that we are setting in a school cafeteria. It will go between some flats and be the area where Jesus is 'tied' for the ending. Any ideas that are easy to find and not too expensive?

    How about a garage door?

You could use corrugated steel panels like they used on the outsides and roofs of metal buildings. The sheets come in an unpainted galvanized finish. Easy to install and they will give you the look of a roll up cafateria roll up door.

We had to solve this problem for a production of In the Heights. What we ended up using was a type of fold-up window shade that we found at Home Depot. We painted it gray and then did some graffiti. It looked pretty good.
