    I'm directing a production of Oliver! and I'm having a hard time figuring out how to handle the moment when Charlotte dumps a pitcher of water over Mrs. Sowerberry's head. Not sure how to do it without ruining our lapel mics. Any suggestions?

    We did Oliver! a few years ago and we simply put heavy glitter in the pitcher.  In the spotlight, it looked a lot like water.
    You could also tie a condom around the lapel mike to protect it.
