Hi to all who have or are in the process of producing Addams Family. I was wondering what people used in the past to make the trees for One Normal Night. Also I would take any advice ideas on any of the production that you would like to share. Thanks

Hey there, we used print outs of elements that surround Central Park. Subway signs, Park hours, strawberry fields, street signs. We have very little wing space. So having a full-size tree cut out for each ancestor was not space sufficient. This is awesome show. I truly believe that it will grow into a classic. We were the first in the state to license it last year. The best time on all fronts. Audience and parental response was fantastic.

In a summer program production, our ancestors carried branches and moved to create new paths for the Beineke family to travel through. It worked well and gave the ancestors a great part in the song.

In our production last spring, the ancestors carried branches from some artificial Christmas trees. It worked very well and cost us nothing since we were able to borrow the trees.

We cut one dimensional trees from 1/4" plywood and then painted them. We had to keep them about 5' tall or less in order for them to be manageable for the actors.
