In the U.K. there is a Media Studies course at GSCE (9th and 10th) and both Media Studies and Film Studies courses at A-Level (11th and 12th). If you search GSCE Media Studies Lesson Plans, or A-Level Film Studies there are many resources.
tes.co.uk (Times Educational Supplement) site has a lot of lesson plans (for theatre, too!). PBS.org also seems to have some.
I wish we got to teach it at middle school level!
