We are looking to get new furniture for our lobby.  What are your recommendations for this?  The furniture we have isn't old, but can't really be used.  It's like the chairs that are made to look at and not sit in, but we want people to feel comfortable sitting in them.  Thank you!

Hi Trevor! Can you let us know a little bit more about your space or maybe post a picture so we can get a sense of the style? What's your budget like?

The first thing that came to my mind were maybe some accent chairs from Target. They come in so many styles and patterns, are comfortable and reasonably priced, around $85:

Keep your living room furniture comfortable and stylish by accenting with this Quincy Basic Slipper Chair from Threshold™. The soft cushion atop the hardwood frame will give you a cozy place to sit and unwind for years to come.

Add some coordinating plush benches along the walls (google office lobby bench or reception bench for plenty of different options) and a few matching end tables and it should look pretty inviting.

We have padded benches in our lobby, and they work great.

I would ask a local architect firm for recommendations. You need sturdy furniture that will be comfortable (but not too comfortable) the will last a long time. I would think that the furniture available in most stores isn't strong enough for your purpose.

We had some alumni donate benches which work out well and clean up easily in case of spills. We recently had a lobby upgrade and the school system required us to get rid of them and use what the architect had in their scheme.
