One of the questions which sparked a plethora of ideas was Cross-Curricular Outreach.
We know that Theatre teachers and students become so focused on our own projects that we sometimes forget that we are part of a middle or high school with other subjects and activities. We also know that if we step outside the theater or classroom before dark that there are other events going on, and that it benefits us, our students, and our programs to support these other happenings.Advocacy.

So the Question:  What do you do that serves as cross curricular outreach, other than the obvious collaboration with the English and History Departments?
An idea which was shared included having students present a 5 minute lesson using theatre techniques in a class other than English or History, then asking the consenting teacher to submit a short assessment sheet on how the student did.

Examples included having an "Arnold Schwarzenegger"type person teach a weight lifting technique; "Albert Einstein" encountering new Science tools teaching a principle; Miss Hydrogen meeting Mr. Carbon on a Speed Date, then marrying and welcoming H2O as a new child.

Looking forward to reading ideas. What fun
