Hello! My fellow thespians, I am so excited to interact with you. So this is what you need to know ( what I think may be useful if you want to read my blogs)
- I am Sierra Shreves. The one, the only, except there are actually a few people with that name.
- I am a card-carrying Thespian.
- I am a senior in high school.
- I plan on pursuing this theatre thing after high school. (Every time I say or write that I get butterflies like it is opening night.)
- I am serving my second year as President of Thespian Troupe 7549.
- I have been a volunteer for the West Virginia State Thespian Board for around two years.
- I perform. (Acting, singing, dancing, etc.)
- I am a techie with my most experience branch of technical theatre in lighting.
- I am writing a blog.
So let us expand on that last one, but eventually we can get back to the others. So why am I writing this blog? Couple of little reason: I asked a high-up, Thespian how I could help our society and she suggested, I thought it would be kinda fun, etc. And then there is my big picture reason: We all live different lives and we all learn lessons, some the easy way and some the not so easy way. I have learned lessons both direct and indirectly. It isn't so much that I believe I have an immense amount of knowledge, but I have accumulated an amount of knowledge that might save some reader a little struggle. So I offer you, my lovely readers, this blog. It is yours and mine, so feel free to shape it by asking questions or offering suggestions in the comment section below. I have already prepare a reasonable amount of material for future posts.
Future posts?
Why yes, of course. It does say introductory blog. This is just the exposition, and perhaps a little too much of it. It offers you a little overview of what you need to know about me and the blog. Such as, the blog will (hopefully, I may fail. I am sorry in advance.) be posted every other Friday. It is going to me sharing experience, info, how-tos, lessons, etc. Anything I can pass through this blog and possibly benefit another by posting about is fair game. Also, I have introduced you to my blog-title theme. For those unfamiliar, it comes from Urinetown soundtrack and at the end of this post you will get a teaser for my next post.
So, once again, thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy the "show." Remember, comments are appreciated and I will take comments and requests.
As this scene ends and you have to wait a whole week for the lights to come back up on this blog, I foreshadow next week's blog post with the Legally Blonde song lyric, "Is that my name up on that list?"
And scene.
