Leaving the Light On for MS Thespians

The Mississippi Thespian Conference sure was an event to remember. Shortly after arriving Friday morning, registration began and one acts started on the mainstage. There was no shortage of creativity or performance. In fact, this was the first time one troupe had ever performed, having just established a troupe this year! How cool!

Then I.E.s began in the evening as students took the time to showcase their talent. From monologues, to musical theatre, to technical events, excited students sporting all black flooded the halls of Pearl High School.

The next morning, it was time for workshops! There was a workshop to fit every student’s needs. From stage combat, to swing dancing, to acting classes, there was something for every skill set. There was even a workshop where students could design costumes and put them on a doll! I taught a NAPS workshop at was excited to find that 32 students were so excited to learn the best way to take NAPS! Afterwards, closing ceremonies took place where students who had placed superior showcased their talent on mainstage. Next year’s conference theme was announced, and after many pictures and lots of hugs, everyone trickled out and headed home.

I’m so thrilled to have been part of such a fantastic event, and I can’t wait to see you all Act, Share, Repeat with us in Lincoln!
