Well, if you are not from the South, perhaps I should explain cat head biscuits. Think about a homemade biscuit so big that it takes two hands to eat it. Now think about smiling the entire time you are enjoying that biscuit. (If we were at my grandmother's house, she would stuff it full of cheddar cheese, right out of the oven. My, that takes me back!)
Now that we are all hungry, let me tell you that my weekend spent with Alabama Thespians at their Festival was even better than a cat head biscuit! From the moment I arrived until the moment that I left, their warmth, dedication, and enthusiasm was palpable. I had a wonderful time seeing the talented students in IEs and Scholarship auditions. Meeting and talking with troupe directors and chapter board members was also a pleasure. And as always, working with ITO Chair Alex Minton was a joy. (While I do think Alex's experience with grits at the hotel breakfast buffet was not as good as it would have been at my grandmother's, at least he didn't dislike them.)
Being able to represent EdTA is always a privilege, and it is heartening to see Thespians work hard and PLAY hard.
Now, somebody pass the gravy!
