This is one part of a series of blogs about maximizing your experience with our online Community, not only to help newbies get their bearings but to also help experienced users learn more and take the next steps, or assist others.
Today, we'll talk about how to use the Member Directory.
There are over 12,000 people in the Open Forum Community. If you are trying to find out if someone you know is a member, the Member Directory is a great tool. You'll find it under the "Community" tab of our navigation bar:
When you visit the Member Directory, you'll find a basic search and an advanced search option.
The basic search is perfect if you already know who you are looking for and have a first name, last name, company or email address. If you aren't sure how to spell something, don't worry! You can search for someone using only three letters. For example, if you aren't sure if Melissa spells her name with one L or two, just type in "Mel" and it will find anyone with those three letters.
The advanced search option is useful if you want to find out something like who in the Open Forum lives in the same state as you, or maybe even the same city!
If you find a connection, add them as a contact and send them a note to say hello! If you find someone new in your area, contact them to see if they are interesting in meeting to exchange ideas or share resources.
