ITO Gals take Cincinnati

Last weekend the ITO Gals took Cincinnati by storm craving Graeter’s Ice Cream and wearing matching polo’s for our Mid-Year meeting. This was the first time we had all been together since September at the Broadway Flea Market and the reunion was one for the books!

We all met at the Cincinnati airport and piled in a van to head over to the Home Office of the Education Theatre Association. If you are ever in the Cincinnati area be sure to drive by the headquarters of EdTA; it is one of the most beautiful buildings I have seen! We received the grand tour from Mr. Jim Flanagan and afterwards we made our way downtown to have dinner with the EdTA Staff and EdTA board of Directors.

The next morning began bright and early with the ITO’s presentation to the EdTA Board of Directors. In this presentation we discussed our Theatre In Our Schools Month and Minute to Give It campaigns. It was incredible to present to a room of such talented and successful people.  Afterwards we had a bit of free time before the Jump Start boot camp so I got a chance to try Graeter’s for the first time! I 10/10 recommend the Mint Cookies ice-cream with a scoop of homemade whip cream.

We then got a chance to observe and take part of sit in EdTA’s JumpStart Theatre Boot Camp. Hearing the stories from the teachers and listening to the wise words of Marty Johnson made for a life changing afternoon. I cannot wait to see the successes that these teachers have with their programs!

Sunday morning the ITO Gals made their mark on the ITO Clubhouse like the other boards before us and we spent the remainder of the day prepping for Lincoln this summer! Monday afternoon it was sad to say goodbye to new and old EdTA friends but I am so thankful for the wonderful experiences I had while visiting Cincinnati!

Up next the ITO Gals will be in Washington D.C. at National Arts Advocacy Day. For updates follow us on all social media!
