Louisiana Thespian Conference AKA Cajun Paradise

This past weekend I had the honor of traveling down to Louisiana for their annual Thespian Conference held at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana and I am now convinced that I’m a true Cajun now.

The conference began with one act showcases from different schools that were amazing and really showed that in theatre, less is more. After those we got right into our first workshop sessions and it was exhilarating. The workshops were all instructed by staff of Northwestern State University and a few other universities. They were all so very willing to help us and answer all our questions. Especially “Acting In Love” taught by Dr. Corey Trahan! It was all about stage intimacy and making relationships on stage believable. Big ups to Dr. Trahan! You go!

The second day began with more brilliant one act showcases and workshop sessions, including my leadership workshop, “Find Your Shine”. It’s all about confidence and believing in yourself especially in a position of leadership. All the students I had were amazing and very attentive! Louisiana Thespians truly have something special going on down there! After my workshop the people who came all took me to a place on campus that was selling homemade jambalaya. It was only three dollars and I couldn’t pass it up. They even recorded my reaction. PEOPLE GO TO LOUISIANA AND GET SOME OF THAT GOOD FOOD. YOU WON’T REGRET IT.

After that, we all decided to go to the cafeteria, where a cabaret was being held. With a combination of the Thespians and students of the University, the talent caliber was through the roof. I’m forever thankful for the time I had at Louisiana’s Thespian Conference. They will forever be in my heart. #CajunBornAndRaised #IWillBeBack
