It's always fun to identify new Thespian Alums who are making lives for themselves in the performing arts, but it's not always easy to find them young and at the beginning of what looks to be a stellar career. Elizabeth "Lizzie" Olsen is an actress who broke out of what could have been a predicable child star career as a showbiz family legacy. Instead she's making a film career on her own steam through a long and rigorous theatre education, talent, and a lot of hard work.

Lizzie is the younger sister of the famous Olsen twins and appeared in several of their films beginning at age four. She was inducted into Troupe 4527 at Campbell Hall High School in North Hollywood, CA, in 2005 and graduated in 2007. After high school Lizzie attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and the Atlantic Theater Company and graduated in March 2013 after six years of intermittent study.

A rising star since her first major role in Silent House, in 2011, Lizzie has appeared in several films, most notably the title role in the critically acclaimed Martha Marcy May Marlene. Her international fame will certainly continue to grow. Lizzie is a featured actress in several upcoming films and rumored to be in final negotiations to appear as the Scarlet Witch in the blockbuster Avengers sequel.

Congratulations, Lizzie, for "Acting well your part!"
