EdTA Board Election Ballot
Finalized:
The slate of five candidates for two seats on the Educational Theatre
Association’s Board of Directors has been finalized. Two members will be
selected for three-year terms on the Board of Directors beginning August 1,
2016. Electronic voting will begin in early September, and members will be able
to vote by paper ballot during the membership meeting at the EdTA National
Conference.
New Perks for Thespians Announced: Effective August 1, 2015,
enhancements of some member benefits for Thespians and Junior Thespians will
become active. Most notable is the new, extended online access to Dramatics magazine; students will be
able to access the online magazine a full year after graduation. Other new
benefits for all Thespians include induction pins and “Proud Parent of a
Theatre Arts Honor Student” bumper stickers.

1-2 in Arlington, VA. Influential arts and education leaders will convene to
explore arts-centered solutions as states across the country implement higher
learning expectations aimed at ensuring America’s young people leave high

Can Equalize the Playing Field: The arts have the power to help equalize
the playing field in society, Jane Chu, chairman of the National Endowment for
the Arts, said as the organization celebrates its 50th anniversary
this year. “I love the fact that we are moving away from the paradigm that the
