Hello Advocacy Community!

Happy Monday! My name is Anna Marsala and I've recently started working at EdTA as their new Advocacy Intern. I currently attend the University of Cincinnati as a senior and study Communication, Public Relations and Marketing. I was involved in theater throughout elementary and high school and am very passionate about advocating for the arts. I will be assisting with the research and publishing of the new Advocacy Updates, where you can find current national and state news about theater and arts education advocacy.

I've spent the past few weeks learning about advocacy, specifically in theater education, and what it really means. Through my research, I was able to create what I believe is my own definition of arts education advocacy. To the newcomer, a simple definition is:

The ongoing effort to prove that providing arts education to children in schools around the world is both important and beneficial.

I plan to continue to grow in my knowledge in order to best advocate for the arts which we all love. I’m excited to be working with EdTA and start more advocacy conversations. Drop a comment and introduce yourself if you're so inclined! Together, we can support the arts.
