The International Thespian Society provides students of all backgrounds a chance to start their journey. Whether this journey leads them to Broadway, Wall Street, or the Miss America Stage-- the opportunities that EdTA provides to students are invaluable. I began my journey during my freshmen year of high school, and I had the privilege to serve on local, state, and national leaderships boards. Last year I had the privilege to travel around the country and witness the power of creativity, confidence, and collaboration that Thespians provides to all.
This past weekend I had the pleasure to relive my memories as a thespian at the first #BroadwayBacktoSchool alumni event at Feinstein's 54 Below. The night was full of talented performers from the Broadway stages as well as special performances from the Beacon School Troupe #6968 , and a surprise induction of Susan Blackwell!
The weekend reminded me why theatre education is crucial for every child to have access too, and that it is going to require support from every field to make this dream a reality. This event was a stepping stone towards that vision: bringing together theatre professionals, thespian alumni, different businesses, and theatre lovers from around the country.
