Places Everyone!

I traveled down south and "Took my Place" this weekend at the Alabama Thespian Festival in Birmingham, and it was full of warm welcomes, comfort food, and tons of theatre!

The 11 State Thespian Officers greeted me with open arms and registration badges late Thursday night, afterwards I reunited with one of the ITO Adult Advisory Board Members from Buford, GA Mrs. Kimberly Staples. It was great spending the weekend with her as she taught me all the vocabulary in the South!

800 Alabama Thespians began Friday morning in the beautiful Reid Chapel on the Samford University campus for opening ceremonies.

Afterwards I met a ton of thespians in the STO room "Club Thespian". Alabama sold lots of cool knick-knacks, my favorite was the different colored baseball t-shirts. I even bought one myself!

Friday night before both main-stages I hosted a Minute to Give It for the Lincoln Experience, and Alabama raised $395.24! Alabama also sponsors their own send a troupe program and this year they brought 4 troupes to festival, Incredible!

On Saturday morning I taught my leadership workshop to 11 enthusiastic thespians, immediately after I taught 40 students how to take #NAPS, I learn something new every time I teach these workshops. For example one troupe in Alabama has a button maker and they sell buttons for every show, what fun way to advertise!

Overall I had a wonderful weekend! Alabama Thespians are full of energy and heart. I cannot wait to see some of them this summer (hopefully they pack me some grits!)

See you soon Indiana!
