I am a native of Birmingham and a graduate of the Alabama School of Fine Arts (’91 Theatre Arts).
In New Orleans, I worked as an actor (some favorite roles include Assassins, Jake’s Women, and Inherit the Wind), and as a set designer and scenic artist for Le Petite Theatre de Vieux Carre, Southern Repertory Theatre, Jefferson Performing Arts Center and others.
In Chicago, I worked in print, industrials, commercials, and stage work with companies including 16th Street Theatre, The Aardvark, American Theatre Company, Chicago Dramatists, Circle Theatre, Defiant, Footsteps, Northlight, and was an Artistic Associate with American Blues Theatre. I worked as a teaching artist with Timeline Theatre, American Theatre Company and Route 66 Theatre, which inspired me to return to school for my teaching certificate.
I've been back in Alabama since 2011, teaching theatre and performing in shows over the summers and during breaks. In 2014, my husband Marty Higginbotham and I founded Ravenswood Productions.
