I would be interested in joining a FB group with other instructors who use this text. I've been using it once a week to supplement my regular TA curriculum. My students love it. Let us know if/when a group launches. ------------------------------ Rich Luedeke Blackhawk Christian Theatre Fort Wayne, ...

Much like Amber's response, we bought cheap sunglasses from the Dollar Tree and then slipped clip on mini reading lights on each arm (purchased from Amazon): https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Flexible-Adjustable-EyeGlasses-included/dp/B06XJYJ2TD/ref=sr_1_48?dchild=1&keywords=tiny+lights+that+fit+o ...

Have you looked at The Compleat Wrks of Wilm Shkspr (Abridged) by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield? Irreverent, but fun. ------------------------------ Rich Luedeke Blackhawk Christian Theatre Fort Wayne, IN ------------------------------

Yes, the help videos are just that. I had little trouble accomplishing the task once I watched them. Don't give up.  And once I had registered my students online, the turnaround in getting certificates, cards and pins was remarkable! ------------------------------ Rich Luedeke Blackhawk Christian ...

Carla, We just produced Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID (the full version, not the Jr.) last spring. If you can pull it off, I would totally cast the Mersisters and the Princesses as separate actors. That costume change between The Contest and the Transformation is brutal.  We also cast Scuttle with ...

Does anyone in northern Indiana have a dairy cart we could rent/borrow/buy for our March production of FIDDLER? Our lead fell through. It is obviously a much sought-after prop. Thanks in advance. ------------------------------ Rich Luedeke Blackhawk Christian Theatre Fort Wayne, IN ---------- ...

You might explore the adaptation by Alice Gerstenberg. It was a Broadway production in 1915 and is very faithful to the source material. We did it several years ago with great success, as did Cedarville University in Ohio. We added a scene at the top of act two in the flower garden to allow for a few ...

Where are you all finding a recorded version of Kelli O'Hara's SOUTH PACIFIC? Of did you all record and save it when it aired on PBS? Been looking for it ever since it aired. Thanks. ------------------------------ Rich Luedeke Blackhawk Christian Theatre Fort Wayne, IN ----------------------- ...

The live production of DRIVING MISS DAISY with Angela Lansbury and James Earl Jones is fantastic, especially for character realization. Most of the recorded performances from the Stratford Shakespeare Festival are worthwhile. Although a bit salty, a subscription to BroadwayHD is a great investment. Perhaps ...

When do you need them? We have lots of pieces from that show (see link) and may be able to rent based on availability and manpower. https://www.blackhawkchristian.org/student-life/the-arts/spring-musical-and-fall-drama/the-wiz/ ------------------------------ Rich Luedeke Blackhawk Christian Theatre ...

You might take a look at the 2016 Stratford Festival production. It was filmed live in front of an audience. A rather dark take on the material, but this is Macbeth after all, but lovely in its way. It can be accessed through Broadway HD or on DVD. ------------------------------ Rich Luedeke Blackhawk ...

Do it! This was one of the most valuable directing experiences I've had in my career. The cast totally bought into the show, the audiences loved it and still talk about it today as being one of their favorites. It's not an easy show to mount, but musically and visually stunning with lots of opportunity ...

We mounted a production of WW this past spring: interesting, challenging, rewarding. Great opportunities for character work. For the flying scene we mounted black wooden stepladders on trucks, played the scene in front of a black curtain with black-clad ensemble members moving and spinning the ladders. ...

We mounted ALICE a few years ago and, based on the recommendation of the theatre department of Cedarville University (Cedarville, Ohio), we went with the Alice Gerstenberg adaptation. The script is in public domain and you can find copies of it online. We added a scene in the flower garden at the top ...

MT Pit will do any requested edits on your performance track: key changes, tempi, cuts, number of vamp measures. I have found them easy to work with and accommodating. I would highly recommend them. I also appreciate that they record acoustic instruments, it's not all synthesized. For what it's worth... ...

You might look into ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW I LEARNED IN KINDERGARTEN. Flexible cast, great scene work, wonderful message. It does have some music, but you have the option of cutting it. You can get a performance track CD if you use the music. It's worth a read. ------------------------------ Rich ...

Have you read the stage adaptation of GET SMART? It combines the first two episodes from the classic Don Adams TV show: one about a kidnapped princess, and one about a mad scientist who has created a machine that vaporizes items. Lots of fun. Very nostalgic. Fairly large cast for a straight play. I'd ...
