This is a great point that Jerry makes... LVT and or LVP are a great solution over concrete but would be terrible on a wooden stage floor. I should have asked what the floor substrate was before throwing my two cents into the mix! Anyway, Ernesto, good luck with your project... ------------------------------ ...

I agree with CJ, if you're looking for a durable - true black floor, then I would recommend an LVT (luxury vinyl tile) or an LVP (luxury vinyl plank) product. Tajima (TAJ) makes a great product. We've installed it in multiple Television Studios with no issues… The material is incredibly durable, shows ...

I would also suggest usedlighting.com (Link to the ellipsoidal pages attached- https://www.usedlighting.com/categories/used-lighting/lekos-ellipsoidals)... I have used them several times for different clients and they are great to work with...  The only caution is their stock changes rapidly so make ...

I have glued window screen to an old backdrop and then molded it after it dried.  The downside is you'll need to use Flex-glue (not the stuff the guy sell in the infomercial or some sort of flexible white glue (Rose Brand sells it for $60/gal, there are other companies out there that sell it as well ...

Hi Cynthia – I have some good and spotty information.  Sorry to say which projector type or manufacturer you choose is not going to be as critical as the lumens of that projector and a great lens (typically sold separately). If possible, reach out to someone locally that does Audio-Visual rentals.  ...

Hello Francis - Unfortunately, Sharkstooth scrim is really not a DYI project… There is potentially good news (perhaps)… Most companies that rent stage drapery will sell aged goods and/or companies like Rose Brand will (from time to time) sell goods that were ordered but for one reason or another, ...

I have consulted on production space in the past and  I cannot emphasize enough the importance of George Ledo's point "Get a theatre consultant to help with the relevant parts of the facility".  You really need an expert in performance space in your corner.  Someone that can speak an architect's language ...

Stacey - You would be well served to purchase muslin.  Since your drop is relatively small (roughly 8' x 15')  you can purchase the raw material from a scenic supplier. Heavy Natural 108" wide muslin is $7.95 a yard from BMI Supply.  A single piece will save you time and the Heavyweight muslin is ...

Hello Lisa -  Two, fun small cast musicals are Something's Afoot, a murder mystery musical that spoofs detective stories, mainly the works of Agatha Christie, and especially her detective novel And Then There Were None.  - Ten character's (evenly divided)... There's also Dames At Sea, a parody of ...

HI Mark -  This is an easy prop to fabricate… All it takes is about 6' of a 1-1/2" closet rod, an 8" x 8" piece of 1/2" plywood and 4 pieces of 1x3 at least 25" long, some glue and your preference to secure the pieces to the plywood.  Cut ½" slots in the closet rod and 1x3 as shown in the PDF. Cut the ...

Hi Greg –   Most anything that you can rent or purchase is going to require some sort of rigging!    I hate to say it but it looks like the best long-term solution is to pop a couple of those ceiling tiles and hang a couple of pipes.  With a little bit of effort, it would look very ...
