Hello! I'm noticing that there are some changes to The Beauty and the Beast that MTI is sending out these days. If you produced it this season what was your experience ? Did it take longer than usual to have your application approved? ------------------------------ Nell] [Lynch] Notre Dame Preparatory ...

Here is what has worked for us. Our school purchased a 15k epson projector and the vendor added a lens that make the image needed in our case it is very large, 15 feet by 40. It is mounted mid stage and does not interfere with lighting because it is so bright. For some shows, musicals, vendors such as ...

We did the show pre-covid and yes our administration did have some concerns. We are a private Catholic school. We were asked to do lots of content warnings, and we did. I had a counselor available at the beginning of rehearsals as we became familiar with the content and she checked in during the process. ...

We did "Midsummer" steam punk and I projected "text" messages between scenes that summarized or commented on the action. Kids had great fun writing them, creating the "phones", and dreaming up who was texting who! Get Outlook for iOS

The mechanicals can easily be gender bent. The frame story as well. It's not accurate but the Duke could easily be a Duchess and the parent figures could be women. It's fun if Flute is a guy, and Bottom, but the others could be women. It ALWAYS delivers and kids will be shocked at the sexuality you can ...

We did a different play, These Shining Lives, better written in my opinion, but the glow paint and glow make-up worked beautifully. Our background involved a clock and as the play went on the paint was charged by the lights and glowed brighter and longer in each scene change. It was very cool! We won ...

My school generally does our big musical in the fall. I'm beginning to wonder if I need to begin to lobby my admins for a new date in the second semester. Are any of you who generally invest big in fall shows feeling similarly? How about those of you forced to cancel your big shows this spring? Were ...

I too did These Shining Lives and it was one of the shows that I am most proud of! I agree with the comment above that it is much better written than Radium Girls. Both are based on real events-just different factories. My kids were able to find newspaper archives with articles about the women the ...

I too, am no expert but I think there are two kinds of fog machines. The low lying one uses dry ice. The regular fog machine uses fog fluid easily purchased through lighting supplier or amazon. Both kids of machines can be rented as well. Educate kids about using dry ice before it is even brought into ...

We built ours years ago, we have four, each side 4X8, and use them for our middle school show every year. My only caution is to buy substantial wheels, three inches, if you want to keep them forever.
