I am looking for a Star Drop/Star Curtain to rent, buy or make for upcoming Addams Family.
    Any ideas?

You can make a star drop really easily, if you like.

Paint and size a sky drop as you would for any other use.  We went a little darker with ours as Addams is sort of surrealistic in the first place.  Hang the drop and then just punch some random holes up there in the sky, insert colored Christmas lights, gaff tape the strands to the back of the drop, and you are off and running.  The lights can be dimmed if you put them on a circuit and hang another instrument as a ghost load, which is a nice feature.  We hung ours behind a black scrim with some border lights as cyc wash--- so as the audience members moved their heads, which one does without thinking about it, the stars appeared to flicker.  We also used an old drop, and just pitched it after, but one could dutchman those holes and re use.

I thought it was a fun project as my students where like, "we're going to do what?"  and when it was finished, I think they appreciated it all the more.  Took about a day.

Where are you located? I have a fiber-optic star curtain that you can rent if you aren't too far from New Jersey (Shipping is expensive)

It is 16 x 30 - has two circuits, and runs on DMX (colors, flicker, dim, etc)

You can email me if interested  wells@summit.k12.nj.us
