I really want to do a lip sync battle for a fundraiser, but want to ask how to double check about copyright laws. I have searched this forum and found where people had successful ones, but none of the posts mentioned copyright. (They were also quite old posts, so I thought a new one may get a quicker response.)

Hi Marley! From what I've learned following similar conversations, any time you are planning to do a public performance of a song or work that you didn't create, your best bet is to check with the company or individual who holds the copyright and secure written permission.
