I understand that you are looking to be economical when purchasing stage curtains,
used stage curtains may not be the best option, yes they are cheap, but you need to know the following
Cotton Velour curtains have a lifespan, how long have the curtains been installed have they been re-flame proofed? Make sure you get documentation of testing and all flame proof certificates, understand the environment of the space as humidity changes can affect the material, and never purchase the used curtains sight unseen. if you do make the purchase you can have a curtain re-flame proofed this can drive the cost of used curtains and their shipping and then shipping them for flame proofing over the cost of new.
The question is why is the person getting rid of their curtains, are they older, ripped, or stained, have they been flame tested recently and if so ask to see the results, you do not want to take on someone else's problems.
Please look into new curtains as well, there is a wide range of fabric weights and materials that you can look into, I recommend synthetic velour when possible as the fabric is inherently flame proofed.

Our high school theatre operates an intimate space, and we are looking for a third traveler curtain: a black or dark purple velour traveler with grommets, approx. 10ft H x 14ft W.
