CPN and Stevenson High School proudly present Larry Silverberg's "The Character Formula: Fundamental Values of True Living"
The Character Formula is an interactive presentation to answer life’s tough parenting questions: Why are our kids so disconnected? Why is everyone always posturing? Why can’t I get my teen to understand me? Doesn’t it seem like everyone is always living to post a Facebook moment?
In this ever changing landscape of living with teens, you don’t know whether your relationships will thrive or who will snap first. In every culture, no one knows what tomorrow will bring, and the only thing that is certain is character.
The Character Formula discusses the fundamental issues of being human, authentic, and how to live in the moment. Explore why we need to connect with others and what we need to do to achieve this. Larry Silverberg will provide practical methods to implement mindfulness, listening skills and how to stimulate change in your life as well as those around you.
In order to get the most from this evening experience, we recommend that you bring your partner and join us on October 6th at 7:00 p.m.
From Larry Silverberg: “In this age of “distraction addiction”, how do you avoid becoming trapped in the maze of daily living, and instead enjoy greater fulfillment and a deeper connection to the world around us while remembering the difference we are here to make?
For our children, school is meant to be a time of great personal growth, leading towards finding one’s true place in the world. Yet, many students express a feeling of being overwhelmed by their lives, their emotions, their negative and self-critical thoughts and fears about the future.
How do we respond to these pressures and make the most positive and productive choices, which will lead towards true fulfillment, satisfaction and joy?
In The Character Formula, we first define the maze and then become keenly aware of it. In this new awareness, you will discover how to get onto the path back out and we will explore how to walk this new path. As we do, you
will get in touch with “the deeper wish”, what each of us is actually here to do in this life and how to make the biggest difference in this world.
The Character Formula is an experiential workshop, it is a true conversation and an intimate exploration into the nature of being human. Come prepared to participate, to challenge habitual beliefs and to discover new paths towards joy. Please be advised, the use of electronics during the workshop is not permitted. Bring a pen and paper to take notes.”
Larry Silverberg is the Founder and Director of the True Acting Institute, with schools in Europe and the United States, and is one of the world’s foremost authorities on the Sanford Meisner technique of acting and internationally acclaimed author.
