We open Pippin next Wednesday and have rented costumes.  Most of the plot is great, but the robes we have for "Morning Glow" are simply not working.  I could keep the cast in their regular player costumes, but would love to change their look for that scene if I can find an alternative nearby.  Trouble is that, whatever I find, I need 35 of them.  Anyone have any suggestions?  Or any schools in or around NJ have 35 choir robes in dark blue, purple, or black that I could rent or borrow?  Thanks.

Could you put out an all call for graduation robes? Between faculty, parents, older siblings, etc. you might find 35 robes that are all black. They might not be exactly the same, but you could add a quick fabric sash or some other accessory to trick the audience's eye into believing they are the same.

Hi Susan,

I have maybe 25 in all different colors (we used them for Joseph last year in the pit choir), which you are more than welcome to borrow. They are not the best quality, but worked for us. From a distance we had a huge rainbow. Most are in the Red palette. Sorry I don't have more. Maybe you can mix with the ones you rented and make it work.

Ron - OMG!  That might actually be perfect.  I have five red here, along with one blue and a few black, so I might be able to make it all work.  Let me talk to the rest of the team and get back to you later today.  If we think this is the way we want to go, I could zip over to you tomorrow (Friday) or even on Monday if that works better for you.
