    Hi everybody
    Hoping to find the perfect show when we finally return to school. So we will be hitting the ground running in the fall!
    I need a show for title one school. (Demographic is
    50% African American/45% Hispanic)We are a low income school and would like something to get the whole community excited.
    I have a female oriented troop (don't most of us-seriously only two males with any experience). I'd love a musical, but my options are limited.
    Any ideas?

    Zoot Suit great choice.  We did a reader's theatre version this year in Theatre 3 and the kids enjoyed it, but also learned so much about "American" history.  Lots of parts...fun costuming...sound design...

    Once On This Island.

    Beautiful show with easy, creative and very colorful costumes and scenery. Strong female lead but many of the roles are mythological characters (Gods and Godesses of the Island) and need not be gender specific. As a school in Miami, you might get a lot of support for a Calypso musical.
