  • 1.  Renting Props for Annie

    Posted 11-17-2021 10:35
We are doing Annie in March and I am trying to find a wheelchair for the FDR character and possibly other items like the laundry cart that Annie runs away in. I am in the Springfield, IL area and shipping those big items may be an issue. Does anyone have suggestions of where I might be able to rent these items? I have looked online and even requested quotes from a couple of prop rental places but have not heard back. They have all been far away from Central Illinois and I'm guessing shipping might make renting undoable.

Another thought is to create my own. Any suggestions on making a wheelchair that fits 1933?

    Thanks!!

    Amy,

When we did Annie several years ago, we borrowed a vintage wheelchair from our local community theater because it needs to be wooden to fit the timeperiod.  As far as the laundry cart, I think we borrowed one from a dry cleaning business, or if you have connections, from the laundry department in a hospital.  Hope you find what you need.

    Sincerely,
