  • 1.  Roadshow, Dinner Theater, Talent Show, Variety Show?

My students would like to start a show that we will combine with a dinner as a fundraiser. The show will be skits, maybe a one act, monologues, etc. When I was in high school we called it a roadshow but we spent a day going to other schools, nursing homes, etc. to perform. The students don't really want to call it a roadshow because we are not touring and they don't think dinner theater works either because it isn't just one play with dinner. It's not really a talent or variety show because it will be just acting and not singing, dancing, playing instruments, etc. So my question is what should we call it? Does anyone do this? Any creative names?

We do a Winter Showcase and a Spring Showcase each year that is similarly structured.

This sounds so cool! In the past I've used the following:

    Class Acts
    Bits and Pieces
Sketch Comedy Improv Show (might not work for your purposes)

    All the best,
    Rob

Our choir does something similar with desserts being served and calls it "Cabaret." They also hire a barista from a local coffee house to make fancy coffees that patrons can purchase
